Hello friends
I’m Liz Berry
aka Auntie Liz. Welcome to my blog. If you are anything like me, you love when you can bring your whole family together and share a meal with each other. Whether it’s a Sunday dinner or another occasion, spending time with those you love makes life that more enjoyable.
For years I’ve been creating menus that were inspired by worldwide cuisines to bring a new excitement to our family’s Sunday dinners. Not only does it give everyone the opportunity to try something new but at least one person learns a little bit more about the world we live in. Usually it’s me!!
So, whether you are cooking a dinner for your family or making something for a pot luck lunch at work, look no further. I’m here to help you. I will be sharing recipes and menus inspired by worldwide cuisines, with the added feature of how to put it all together for a fun dinner party experience.

Where this all began
I have always loved cooking and entertaining. This really became a passion when my niece Mia moved to Orlando to attend college and I wanted to make sure she ate well. It was Fall of 2020 so going out for dinner at a restaurant was almost impossible. But what was possible was to make a restaurant quality meal at home. This soon developed into creating meals around a different cuisine each week just so we could try something different. During one of our dinners together she said “Auntie Liz, you should start your own food blog”. Truthfully, the thought never had occurred to me, but after thinking about it I thought “Why not!” And so, my side hustle was born.
Life’s an adventure
Being curious about the world has always been a part of my life. When I was young I remember picking up travel catalogs and cutting out the pictures of places I wanted to visit and making my own travel log. Since then, I’ve traveled to a few places over the years and on top of the list of things to do is trying out the local fare. Whether it’s having your first taste of fresh butter in Europe or dipping your tortillas in a creamy dreamy gaucamole in Mexico, your taste buds get an explosion of flavors that you just want to recreate at home.

Cooking the World at home
My Mom, being an avid book collector has an old TimeLife series from the 1970s called Foods of the World. Each book takes you on an adventure to another country and the culinary delights you could find there. Although outdated, I still love paging through those books for dinner inspirations.
Now that we have the world at our fingertips (literally) finding recipes from other countries is fairly easy, but putting a meal together with courses that complement each other takes time to research and test out. That’s why I started this blog. I want to give you everything you need to make a unique meal, from starters to dessert, that you can make for your family and friends. These recipes have been tested and approved by my family and friends, so I know they will work.
Auntie Liz Adventures?
You might be asking “Why the name Auntie Liz Adventures?” My favorite job is being Auntie Liz to 13 nieces and nephews. When my nieces Mia and Lea were young, they would come to stay with me in Orlando for a week during spring break. I would plan the whole week out with Adventures – some things they would know about and others would be a surprise. After a while our trips together became known as Auntie Liz Adventures. Over the years we have gone on little and big adventures together making sure to sample the local cuisine. After returning home, recreating recipes of the places we’ve visited is like bringing back a tasty souvenir to share with others.

Let me hear from you
I hope you enjoy some of the culinary delights you’ll find in my blog and that they will become some of your favorite recipes to make and share. I’m always looking for a new cooking adventure, so tell me what international cuisine you might like to cook from next.
